It has been a while since my last update, and this past week has not been good for me and P90X.
Friday - Day 44
Net Daily Calories: 2,034
Exercise: None
We went to Sandy's house to help George with his photography business plan after work. We ordered pizza for dinner, and to make matters worse I skipped plyo.
Saturday - Day 45
Net Daily Calories: 704
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Back & Biceps / Bicycling (6 mi)
It was one of the very few Saturdays Terri and I did not have anything planed. So I scheduled a ride around the Veloway for myself. . It turned out to be a really nice day, but I did learn how out of shape I am in. Some of the hills were pretty rough on me.
Sunday - Day 46
Net Daily Calories: 1,740
Exercise: Yoga (Kapha with Terri)
Terri and I went to my parent's house to celibate Gena, dad and my birthdays. Cake always gets me.
Monday - Day 47
Net Daily Calories: 422
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Legs & Back
This is me at the penical of fitness. Ate right all day and got my exercise in at night. Now watch my dizzying slide into the depths of gluttony and laziness.
Tuesday - Day 48
Net Daily Calories: 2,487
Exercise: None
I had a business trip to the Valley this week. So of course I used that as an excuse not to workout. Of course the first stop once you land in the Valley has to be El Pato. I believe that is actually a law. In fact I think it is a law of nature, like gravity. And to make matters worse my hotel had an open bar from 5:30 to 7:30.
Wednesday - Day 49
Net Daily Calories: 2,894
Exercise: None
Casa del Taco in Mission, and Botana Platter with the Nerings. Enough said.
Thursday - Day 50
Net Daily Calories: 2,117
Exercise: None
I found a great Mexican food restaurant in La Feria.
Friday - Day 51
Net Daily Calories: 897
Exercise: None
I finally got back to Austin. That's why the calories are so low. But I still did not workout.
Saturday - Day 52
Net Daily Calories: 2,189
Exercise: None
Terri and I finally tried out Ilsa's Kitchen in Spicewood. Really good food, but for some reason the Germans don't really believe in diets. Then we got together to celibate Julia's Birthday with tons of food and of course cake. Topped off the night with a hokey game, and you can't be a belligerent fan without a couple of beers.
Sunday - Day 53 (My Birthday)
Net Daily Calories: 2,172
Exercise: None
What better way to celibate a birthday than to get your diet back on track and start exercising again. How about over eating and watching TV all day?
Monday - Day 54
Net Daily Calories: 748
Exercise: Ab Ripper Plus / Core Synergistics
Weight:166.8
Body Fat: 20.7%
BMI: 25.3
Ok a week off my diet and there was no real change in my weight. However I did notice a big difference in the workout. I had a really hard time making it all the way through. I am back on track and I have 4 days to get ripped for my 60 day update.

Catching Up is Hard to Do
Ok, it has been over a week since my last update. I'll try and get everything as accurate as possible.
Wednesday - Day 35
Net Daily Calories: 1,550
Exercise: X Stretch
We had Wahoo's for lunch, and celebrated George's new job with ice cream after dinner. I'm afraid the rest of the week just goes down hill from there.
Thursday - Day 36
Net Daily Calories: 592
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Chest, Shoulders & Triceps
Not too bad, but I still had ice cream and Pop Chips.
Friday - Day 37
Net Daily Calories: 840
Exercise: Plyometrics
I cooked up a nice beef loin for dinner. Yum.
Saturday - Day 38
Net Daily Calories: 1,146
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Back & Biceps
I forgot to log my exercise and dinner on Saturday, so my calorie count is probably a little higher. It was my dad's birthday so we went out to eat at Spring Creek and had cake. After lunch Terri had a little date and watched Black Swan. Pretty freaky movie. I really enjoyed it.
Sunday - Day 39
Net Daily Calories: 1,797
Exercise: Ashtanga Yoga
Yoga was the only healthy part of my day. At lunch we meet up with one of Terri's old high school friend at NxNW. Dinner was at County Line for Tommy's 21st birthday. Beef ribs, beer and thress leches cake. How could anyone resist. Then to cap off an awesome day we rented Just Dance for the WII and Erik brought over beer and pizza.
Monday - Day 40
Net Daily Calories: 1,386
Exercise: Ab Ripper Plus / Legs & Back
I don't remember everything I did on my day off, but I do remember it being a pretty busy day.
Tuesday - Day 41
Net Daily Calories: 1,120
Exercise: Pilates Ab Workout / Kempo
Someone brought pecan pie to work. Why do people hate?
Wednesday - Day 42
Net Daily Calories: 3,042
Exercise: None
This day just totally fell apart after work. For my birthday Double Dave's gave me a coupon for a dozen peperoni rolls. Terri was really craving them for dinner, so long story short. Five rolls and four glasses of wine latter I was passed out on the couch rather then getting my stretching in.
Thursday - Day 43
Net Daily Calories: 537
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Chest, Shoulders & Triceps
Weight:165.2
Body Fat: 20.7%
BMI: 25.0
Today felt good. I was pretty tired when I got home, but I worked out right away, and things went pretty well. This whole tracking my weight thing is getting a little depressing. I have been reading some articles about how the magnetic fields are shifting. I bet that has affected gravity as well and now everything is heavier than it was 43 days ago. That sounds plausible. Right?

Catching Up
Friday - Day 30
Net Daily Calories: 2,172
Exercise: Plyometrics
The good: I woke up early to get my exercise in.
The bad: I ate pizza while watching A&M in the Cotton Bowl
The ugly: A&M lost to LSU (41-24).
Saturday - Day 31
Net Daily Calories: 1,528
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Back & Biceps
My arms are still a little sore from the Bicep work out. We had a pretty busy Saturday: Farmers Market in the morning, Container Store in the afternoon, and then we had a party to go to in the evening.
Sunday - Day 32
Net Daily Calories: 873
Exercise: Ashtang Yoga
Woke up and made it to Matt's Ashtanga class in the morning, and then spent the rest of the day trying to get our closet cleaned up. It turned out really nice. The bad part is now when I look in all our other closets, I want to get more elfa systems to organize them.
Monday - Day 33
Net Daily Calories: 1,106
Exercise: Ab Ripper Plus / Legs & Back
I have started adding weight to some of the exercises. I am a little worried I am going to get into some sort of pattern with this program, and stop improving. However my legs were really sore today, so something must be working.
We had a pot luck breakfast at work, and I brought the Brazilian cheesy bread things. I don't think my coworkers realized they needed to be warmed up. There were leftovers that I brought home. Someone also brought DONUTS. Damn it don't they know I want to try and cut down on my carbs. Not to mention sugar, and cholesterol. Why do donuts have to taste so good.
Tuesday - Day 34
Net Daily Calories: 1,116
Exercise: Pilates Ab Workout / Kempo
Weight:165.8
Body Fat: 20.4%
BMI: 25.1
I was a little worn out from work today, so I did not put in all the effort I should have on Kempo. Hopefully I do better tomorrow.

29 Day Update
Thursday - Day 29
Net Daily Calories: 589
Exercise: Ab Ripper / Chest, Shoulders & Triceps
Weight: 165.8 lbs
Body Fat: 21.1%
BMI: 25.1
Chest: 39.0"
Waist: 35"
Hips: 36"
Right Thigh: 21.5"
Left Thigh: 21.0"
Right Arm: 13.5"
Left Arm: 13.0"
Since I have a pretty full day planed tomorrow, I decided to go ahead and do my update today. I didn't have anything to eat for breakfast, that is why my calorie count is so low today. I read an article in Men's Health that said any breakfast is better than no breakfast. So in hind site, I probably should have eaten one of the leftover donuts from yesterday just to get my metabolism going.
It looks like I am starting to loose a little bit of the fat around my belly, so that's good. Besides that, I am not sure if there is really all that much difference externally. I am feeling a lot better though. And I am getting better at making it through the entire program. So all in all, I think things are going along pretty well. Hopefully the next 30 days will bring along some more visible changes.
Please don't laugh at my pictures too hard. Terri always says I look like a dork when I smile for my update photos. Of course the one time I didn't smile, she still said I looked like a dork. I wonder what she is trying to tell me.

Almost 1/3 In
Monday - Day 26
Net Daily Calories: 961
Exercise: Core Synergistics
I made it through the entire program, but I was really hurting at the end.
Tuesday - Day 27
Net Daily Calories: 1,493
Exercise: Ashtanga Yoga
I walked myself through the entire primary series. There were one or two times that I had to check my cheat sheet, but for the most part it was all from memory. Way to go Joe!
Wednesday - Day 28
Net Daily Calories: 1,303
Exercise: X Stretch
Weight: 166.4
Body Fat: 20.4%
BMI: 25.2
Are you kidding me. I have two days until my update, and someone brought donuts into the office this morning. I had one at lunch, but luckily Terri was on IM to talk me out of eating more.
I'm not sure how the logistics of my 30 day update. Friday is a pretty packed day. After work I was going to go over to Jon's house to watch A&M in the Cotton Bowl, and afterward Terri and I are going to watch the Lemurs and What Made Milwaukee Famous. I might just have to wake up early to get my work out in. I'm sure I will figure something out.

Day 25
Net Daily Calories: 890
Weight: 167.8 lbs
Body Fat: 22.0%
BMI: 25.4
Five more days to go until my 30 day update, and I all I have done is gain weight. Boo :( I was listening to Clark Howard the other day, and he was talking about not waiting for the new year to start your resolutions. It is a little late now, but I do like his idea of not waiting for some arbitrary day to better your self.

Happy New Year
Tuesday - Day 20
I was doing good until dinner. We meet up with one of Terri's old high school friends at Polvo's. The good news is Tuesday is my rest day. I have been trying to do the X Stretch on my off days. That way I at least get a little exercise in, however enchiladas really are not conducive to stretching.
So I got Kempo in, but we ate a Torchy's with Terri's family. Damn you Trailer Park Taco why do you have to taste so good.
Stupid allergies made me sick. I did not get any sleep the night before, and I could barely move the entire day. I took a nap right when I got home. Terri was really nice and made an amazing salmon dinner. This was probably my best meal of the week. I only wish I had been feeling better so I could have eaten with Terri.
I got out of work a little early which allowed me to get my exercises in before we went out to celebrate the new year. This entire week has been really bad on my diet. Terri and I tried eating at home before going out. That way we would only split a small appetizer. Why can I not resist chips and queso. I was not even hungry and my hand kept shoving more into my mouth.
Weight: 165.8 lbs
Body Fat: 20.5%
BMI: 25.1
Terri and I woke up early so we could get our workouts in before the day got out of hand. So far everything has gone alright. Hopefully we can eat a sensible dinner and put the gluttony of the past week behind us.
I am a little worried. Six more days until I have my 30 day progress check. Today's weight is a little misleading, being that I took it at noon rather than in the evening. Terri keeps telling me that muscle weighs more than fat, and that is why I have not been seeing any weight loss. I'm not so sure though. My BMI and Body Fat % should be dropping if I am really building muscle. It is nice of Terri to be supportive though. Wish me luck as I think skinny thoughts this week.
