Week 3 In Review

Wednesday - Day 14

Net Daily Calories: 2,022

Exercise: None

It was Adie’s Birthday so the whole family went to Red Robin’s to celebrate. It was good food and good times, but probably not the best for my diet.

Thursday - Day 15

Net Daily Calories: 1,497

Exercise: Chest & Back / Ab Ripper

Friday (Christmas Eve) - Day 16

Net Daily Calories: 1,243

Exercise: Plyometrics

I woke up early to get Plyo in before the day got too hectic. I think I did a pretty good job avoiding snacks. Terri wanted spaghetti for lunch and there was some mac and cheese at dinner. So my diet has been a little carb heavy.

Saturday (Christmas) - Day 17

Net Daily Calories: 1,556

Exercise: Ab Ripper / Legs and Back

We spent Christmas day with Terri’s family in Dallas. I switched out the exercise routine so I would not have to worry about finding weights. I tried to get Tyler to work out with me, but he got bored pretty quickly. Of course there was a huge Christmas dinner with the entire Hsu clan, and to make matters worse Sandy made me eat ice cream.

I’m not totally sure if my calorie count is always accurate. Terri thinks the “Loose It” app is racist, because it does not have all the typical Taiwanese foods. I think it does a pretty good job, and come on how often to I eat dried compressed fish eggs anyway.

Sunday - Day 18

Net Daily Calories: 1,425

Exercise: Ashtanga Yoga (at home with Terri)

The car ride home was pretty long, with a lot of stop and go traffic. We stopped to meet up with the Skiners at a Starbucks and grabbed some Fries at Wendy’s. After a long day of driving, I helped Mitch fix their AC. By time I got home I was pretty pooped, but Terri was nice enough to lead us though a modified yoga program.

Monday - Day 19

Net Daily Calories: 1,393

Exercise: Pilates Ab Workout / Shoulders & Arms

I know my calorie count looks good, but all of that came off of one meal. Terri let me talk her into getting pizza for dinner. Nooooo! She was nice enough to make us a salad, but I still feel pretty bad about the pizza. Ten more days tell I take my 30 day pictures, and I am still eating pizza. Bad joe.

Lucky Day 13

Net Daily Calories: 1,110

Exercise: Pilates Ab Workout / Kempo

Weight: 168.8 lbs

Body Fat: 19.8%
BMI: 25.6

Today was a great workout. I only worked half a day, because they had to shut the water off to my building. So I came home and took a nap before my workout. I listened to Girl Talk to get me pumped up for Kempo. Terri was laughing at me the entire time, but I was really in the zone, and got a great workout in.

Day 12

Net Daily Calories: 1,110

Exercise: Ab Ripper Plus / Legs and Back

Weight: 170.0 lbs

Body Fat: 19.2%
BMI: 25.8

Terri did the grocery shopping and cooked dinner tonight, while I got my workout in. It was very nice of her. My shoulder is finally starting to feel better. I didn't feel any pain during the warm up. Since I was feeling better today, I pushed myself a little harder, any my legs felt like jello by the end of the workout. Today was a pretty good day.

Long Weekend

Day 9 - 12/17/10

Net Daily Calories: 1,902

Exercise: None

I met up with some friends after work on Friday, and ate at Trudy's. We were celebrating Christine passing her Boards. Needles to say, a Mexican Martini and Chile Relleno probably are not on the P90X diet. And they certainly do not help when you are suppose to be doing Plyo. Unfortunately I skipped Plyo on Friday.

When I was living in Houston, my favorite radio hosts would always say, "The only diet that works is the Move More Eat Less Diet". I am hoping P90X will motivate me to move more. So, I had one bad day. I'm not going to let that derail my fitness plans.

Day 10 - 12/18/10

Net Daily Calories: 973

Exercise: Ab Ripper / Shoulders & Arms

Weight: 170.4 lbs

Saturday was a very busy day. Terri and I woke up early and went to the farmers market to load up on fresh veggies. I spent the rest of the day working on remodeling the guest bathroom. I got a good workout in, but my shoulder is still a little sensitive.

Day 11 - 12/19/10
Net Daily Calories: 1,199

Exercise: Ashtanga Yoga

Weight: 168.8 lbs

Body Fat: 19.3%
BMI: 25.6

Terri and I woke up early and made it to our 9:00am Ashtanga class. My shoulder really only bothered me during the inversions. Besides that it was a really good practice. I spent most of the rest of the day working on the bathroom.

Day 8

Net Daily Calories: 1,758

Exercise: Ab Ripper / Chest and Back

Weight: 167.2 lbs

Body Fat: 21.6%
BMI: 25.4

Today was a hard one. I had a long day at work, then Terri had a work happy hour to go to. It was a little late when we were finally able to head home, so we decided to eat out rather than try and cook at home. That probably was not the smartest idea. FYI don't eat Tika Masala right before doing P90X. It was rough, but I made it though the entire workout. Which is better than last week, when I only made it a little over halfway before I had to stop, because I felt like I was going to puke.

Day 7 - One Week Down

Net Daily Calories: 1,034

Exercise: Pilates Ab Workout / X Strech

Weight: 166.8 lbs

Body Fat: 20.7%
BMI: 25.3

I had donuts for breakfast, so most of my calories are total junk. Hopefully Terri and I can figure out a meal plan that fits into our life style.

Before Pictures

I know no one wants to see me with my shirt off, but here are my before pictures. (Man am I pale)

90 Days to Being Totally Ripped

The other day I stepped on a scale and realized I had put on quite a bit of weight, and the spare tire has started to become a lot more evident. So I decided to start up the P90X program again. The first time I did P90X, I lost about 25 lbs. Hopefully I can get the same results this time, and actually find a way to maintain the program so I keep it off.

Terri suggested I use my blog to help track my progress. Hopefully this will help me achieve and maintain my goals. So I guess I better start out by defining my goals. Basically I want to get rid of the spare tire and be fit, with some muscle definition.

Target Date: March 9, 2011

Target Weight: 155 lbs

Target % Body Fat: 12%

Waist: 32”

Target Net Daily Calories: 1,698

My plan is to follow the P90X diet and exercise program. I will use the Ipod App Loose-it to track my calorie intake, and I will use my daily blog to track my progress. To add a little more variety in the program I will be rotating between three different ab workouts, and a few of the cardio workouts. However I will maintain the regular P90X schedule of strength training one day and cardio the next.

I’m a little behind on my blog updates, so here is what I have done so far:

Note: My shoulder was still very sore. I took Bayer aspirin before the workout.
